Geoffrey was born on the 24th of May, 1983, in Braine-l'Alleud. Early in his life, he enjoys Motorsports : first motocross (thanks to his grandfather) and then quad, scooter and motorbike. In 2003, when he meets with Jonathan Thonon (the famous karting World Champion), they become friends and Geoffrey starts karting passionately, owning successively a 100cc K55, a 125cc Leopard-Iame and a dc.one-Rotax Max. He participates to many indoor and outdoor races, always with top results.  Geoffrey is very well coached with accurateness by Alfons Mertens, his father. A special tribute should also be dedicated to Marie-Claire Scohy, his mother.

_IKWC 2008 - Indoor Kart World Championship

Geoffrey Mertens participated in the "Indoor Kart World Championship 2008". He already pre-qualified on the 27th of April and 01st of June with good results and was qualified for the Final races in August ! Geoffrey and Alfons operated the embarked camera on some occasions of this championship.

Geoffrey Mertens and his team (the famous "Blue Star Racing Team.LBO.COB") win the Nations Cup 2008 !!!

This 3h endurance race took place on the 01st of August, as a prelude of the Indoor Kart World Championship. Gregory Laporte, Kenny Geldhof, Geoffrey and Steven To were runing under the flag of Hong-Kong. They made a perfect race, taking the best on the Dutch and Brasilian teams (2d and 3d). This victory is dedicated to Emile Scohy (Geoffrey's Godfather) and to Steven's mother). The team was running under the colors of Camera On Board !

Geoffrey Mertens  takes the 11th place of the Pilots -Heavy Championship 2008 !!!

Geoffrey Mertens was involved with Yoann Mathurin and Christian Vanbel in the 4h StreetRace in Koksijde on the 23d of August 2008. The team, started at the 3d place on the grid. After a very efficient race and despite a broken wheel and some engine troubles, Geoffrey and his co-pilots finish on the 3d step of the podium !_

Geoffrey Mertens is going to take part, into the "Camera On Board Team !" for that famous race organized by the Rotary International on the 13th of September next. The team should have serious chances to obtain good results... The Team Manager, on this occasion will be Alfons Mertens himself !
